I love books. I live by the quote from Erasmus: “When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes.” There is very little that I enjoy more than a book and someone to discuss it with.
Because of my love for books and reading, I am often asked by people for book recommendations. Over time there are a handful of books that I find myself suggesting frequently. These are a few of my favorites, and I would like to pass them on to you in no particular order. If you are interested in a book about a specific topic, I’m happy to make suggestions. Just let me know. You can also peruse out the books in my library and find out what I’m reading right now.
- Four Loves by C. S. Lewis
- A Peculiar People by Rodney Clapp
- Dogmatics in Outline by Karl Barth
- Desiring God by John Piper
- Knowledge of the Holy by A. W. Tozer
- The Life You’ve Always Wanted by John Ortberg
- Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
- Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller
- The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity by R. Paul Stevens and Robert J. Banks
- The Connecting Church by Randy Frazee
- Radical Reformission by Mark Driscoll
- The Challenge of Jesus by N. T. Wright
- Confessions by St. Augustine
- How the Irish Saved Civilization by Thomas Cahill
Those are just a few to start with. Enjoy.

So great to see this blog; all the best for school. I am at the very beginning of considering myself Puritan. God bless you.

The Irish saved civilization by storing the writings of the Greeks…Too bad they couldn’t read them.
